Palantir Technologies and Gemelli Generator Real World Data (RWD), a research facility affiliated with Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS (“Policlinico Gemelli”), have unveiled a collaborative partnership.

The collaboration aims to introduce digital medicine research solutions that harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance patient care and health outcomes.

Policlinico Gemelli’s digital research centre, Generator RWD, will leverage Palantir Foundry as a critical enabling platform for effectively managing the vast and intricate landscape of healthcare data.

Foundry’s AI capabilities will be employed to generate Real World Evidence (RWE) in support of clinical and translational research efforts.

These endeavours include drug and indication discovery, advancements in patient care, and the development of digital medicine solutions for healthcare research not only in Italy but also within their global partnerships.

Palantir’s software will play a pivotal role in enhancing the capabilities of Generator RWD and its network of partners as they strive to maximise the utilisation of data, thereby gaining fresh insights across various domains within healthcare research.

Palantir Italy head Andrea Galvagni said: “Healthcare is transforming through the power of data and AI, and this trend will only accelerate. More and more of the industry is wielding this power to discover novel therapies, improve patient care and increase treatment efficiency and effectiveness.

“At Palantir, we are proud to support world-leading institutions such as Policlinico Gemelli by providing them with the technology they need to achieve their most critical missions.”

Gemelli Generator Research Facility scientific director Vincenzo Valentini said: “Real World Evidence is constantly gaining traction in support of research in healthcare. By integrating Foundry in the framework developed at Generator RWE, we aim at accelerating our research pipeline cycles to deliver faster and better outcomes.”

Gemelli Digital Medicine & Health CEO said: “The added value of Palantir software and their deep skills in data-driven innovation will enrich the suite of products and services we are delivering within co-creation projects with our industrial partners.”
