Now Optics’ retail brands My Eyelab and Stanton Optical have launched Macuhealth over-the-counter (OTC) eye care supplements in the US in partnership with Physicians Eyecare Group.

The MacuHealth supplements are intended to enhance visual performance and protect vision over a lifetime in patients over 50 years of age and who have a family background of macular degeneration.

My Eyelab and Stanton Optical have been collaborating with Physicians Eyecare Group, an independent eye care doctors’ group, for more than a decade.

Physicians Eyecare Group functions independently from Now Optics’ retail stores and provides a vision health assessment for patients and clinical recommendations aimed to improve quality of life.

Physicians Eyecare Group medical consultant Machat said: “To take care of patients in the best way possible, we are always evaluating how to make a patient’s journey better.

“While surgeries are often recommended to fix certain eye ailments, they are not risk-free. Our approach is to make eye care more holistic.

“We believe adding supplements to our patient care will show a significant impact in preventing and even reversing symptoms of eye issues and diseases, without the risk.”

The physician-formulated nutraceuticals range is designed to rebuild and maximise macular pigment. It also supports the treatment of macular degeneration and the management of dry eye and floaters.

Available at Stanton Optical and My Eyelab stores, the products are said to have a verified list of ingredients on the bottle.

The addition of the new vision-boosting nutraceuticals aligns with the brands’ pledge to offer accessible and affordable eye health products.

In 2024, My Eyelab and Stanton Optical have plans to launch additional eyecare products, including online availability, to further serve their customers.

My Eyelab and Stanton Optical merchandising VP Nicole Lord said: “We are excited about the new direction we’re going in and are certain it will make a huge impact on future patient care. This is just the start, but it is a critical part of what we consider holistic eye health.

“In the future, you’ll continue to see an expansion of our over-the-counter and physician-recommended products in My Eyelab and Stanton Optical stores and in our eye care treatment plans.”
