Improving patient safety in endoscopic procedures

In a bid to provide the highest possible level of patient care, Dr Elisabeth Muggeo and Dr Laurence Martin of the University Hospital Dijon, and Dr Antoine Piffaut of the Central Sterile Supply Department in Dijon, France, took the decision to move away from high-level disinfection of endoscopes with peracetic acid towards low-temperature sterilisation, using Advanced Sterilization Products’ hydrogen peroxide gas plasma-based STERRAD system.
