Aker BioMarine embarks on global education initiative

A year ago, Aker BioMarine launched the education programme "How to Speak Krill" in the US. This programme gives krill oil marketers tools to help their customers (shoppers/consumers) make more informed decisions when choosing an omega-3 option. Encouraged by an increase in market share for brands using Superba™ Krill in the natural channel in the US over the past year, Aker BioMarine has decided to put significant time, money and resources behind krill education on a global level. "How to Speak Krill" is at the core of this initiative.

"How to Speak Krill" focuses on several key areas, including:

The Phospholipid Advantage: Superba™ Krill is rich in phospholipids, which carry omega-3s throughout the body, helping to keep the heart, brain and joints healthy.
Pure & Clean: Superba™ Krill is a clean source of both choline and marine omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, and the presence of astaxanthin helps keep the fatty acids naturally fresh and stable.
Aker Produces the ONLY MSC-Certified Krill Brand: Superba™ is the ONLY krill brand certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) as being sustainable and 100% traceable from sea to shelf — and Aker BioMarine has the GPS coordinates to prove it.

"Aker BioMarine is dedicated to educating brands, retailers and consumers on krill, its health benefits, sustainability factors and more," said Matts Johansen, COO, Aker BioMarine. "Now we are thrilled to roll out this program globally."

Aker BioMarine, was exhibiting at Health Ingredients Europe (HiE) in Amsterdam from December 2nd – 4th. Company representatives will be available at Stand #K15 to discuss the krill education program, the company’s recently released white paper discussing the positive link between krill oil and Omega-3 Index, the company’s MSC certification renewal and upcoming product innovations, including a new gummy application.
