FrieslandCampina DMV awarded with certification FSSC 22000

FrieslandCampina DMV’s food safety management systems have been awarded with a FSSC 22000 certification.

This will replace all the various standards customers in different countries asked for in the past.

"In future one certificate on the wall will be enough. One standard fits all, so to speak," explains drs.ing. Leo van Outersterp, manager quality at DMV. The company is delighted to have recently been awarded the Certificate of Approval by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assessment.

This organisation has assessed the systems and found that they comply with FSSC 22000, the only real independent food safety standard in the GFSI group of standards. GFSI is an initiative by the largest food producers and retailers worldwide. Recognition by GFSI is important to FrieslandCampina DMV as one of the front runners in the food industry.

The certification applies to the manufacturing of milk proteins, whey protein concentrates, lactose and bio-active components.

"The FSSC 22000 standard is one of the fastest spreading food safety standards that comply with the Global Food Safety Initiative requirements. It is being adopted everywhere. The motto of GFSI is ‘Once certified, accepted everywhere’. And this is exactly what we are striving for with DMV’s compliance to the standard."

Dr. Herman Sips, managing director of FrieslandCampina DMV added: "The certification is very much in line with DMV’s brand promise; we truly work hard to be ‘simply trusted’. This internationally accepted certificate is an integral part of the perception of our business. It is a building block in the faith we want our customers to have in us."
