Abbott has expanded its Pedialyte product portfolio with four new products – Pedialyte with Immune Support, Pedialyte Sport, Pedialyte Organic and Pedialyte Electrolyte Water with Zero Sugar.
Pedialyte’s original formulations were created more than 50 years ago, to deliver the most essential fluid and electrolytes to support the recovery of sick children from dehydration symptoms.
The US-based healthcare technology firm has leveraged its expertise in advanced nutrition science to expand its suite of products that address the evolving needs of consumers.
Abbott nutrition business executive vice president Daniel Salvadori said: “At Abbott, everything we do is driven by consumers and their healthcare needs.
“Understanding consumers’ concerns this year, our team of nutrition scientists developed an advanced hydration formula with key nutrients designed to support the immune system, helping us show up for people when it matters most and provide the reliability they’ve counted on for so long.”
Pedialyte with Immune Support is one of four new Pedialyte products, designed to meet a variety of hydration needs, and offer important nutrients that support immune health.
The product is developed for consumers needing immune-supporting nutrients in their hydration solution, said the company.
Pedialyte with Immune Support includes prebiotics, vitamin B12, vitamin C, vitamin E, and zinc, which are nutrients to support the immune system.
Available in new fruit punch and lemon-lime flavours, Pedialyte Sport features five electrolytes, including sodium, potassium, magnesium, chloride, and phosphate. The product is designed for athletes undergoing rigorous training and exercise.
Pedialyte Organic is a USDA-certified organic with no artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners and includes zinc for immune support. It is offered in crisp lemon berry and grape flavours and works to prevent mild to moderate dehydration.
Pedialyte Electrolyte Water with Zero Sugar is an electrolyte water drink, containing zinc for immune support and electrolytes including sodium, chloride and potassium, all without sugar or artificial flavours or colours.
